After you pick up your packet, please join us at our pre-race seminar "How To Improve Your Running" on Saturday, May 31, from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM, featuring megamarathoner Dane Rauschenberg and Olympic Trials marathoners Susannah Kvasnicka and Michael Wardian at Water Street Gym, 3401 K Street (same as Water Street).
At 6 PM, we move late packet pickup and late registration from the store down to the start/finish.
After the seminar, we gather under Key Bridge for the 6:30 PM start. The course is out and back on the flat, fast Capital Crescent Trail.
Please safety-pin your bib number securely on the front of your t-shirt and wear it throughout the race.
Please affix your IPICO timing tag securely to your right shoe using a twist-tie, pull-tie, safety pins, or Velcro closure. IPICO timing tags are more compact than ChampionChips and easier to affix. They measure the time between when you cross the starting mat and when you finish.
Once the race starts, please stay to the right, and please be courteous to other trail users and bicyclists. The turnaround (4.0 KM west of the start) is about 800 meters past Fletcher's Cove (formerly Fletcher's Boathouse). We have aid stations at the tunnel entrance to Glover Archbold Park and at Fletcher's Cove.
Per USATF Rules, scoring and awards are based on the time when you finish, not your net time, but you may use your net time to qualify for future races such as SunTrust National Marathon. After the race, you enter a tent where you must remove and return your IPICO timing tag before you leave the area. Anyone who does not return their IPICO timing tag by June 3, 2008, will be charged $10. (Sorry about that.)
After the race, we have plenty of prizes and refreshments, and we host a post-race celebration at Water Street Gym. Your bib number is your ticket.
Note: Parking is tight in Georgetown on Saturday night, so please take Metro to Rosslyn or Foggy Bottom and walk over, or take Rosslyn Connector or Metrobus.
